Privacy policy

Blue Check Invoice (“Blue Check”, “we”) is run by SyncX Pro Inc., a company in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what information we collect when you use bluecheckinv.com, app.bluecheckinv.com and the Blue Check apps, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, username and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never see or store your actual password.
- Your business: the business name, address, phone, email, website, tax numbers, logo and settings you enter.
- What you put in the app: clients, items, invoices, estimates, payments, notes and templates.
- Files you upload to copy a design: when you use “Copy my old design”, the file is used only to make your template and is not kept afterwards.
- How the service is used: sign-in times, the device you trusted for two-step sign-in, and basic logs (such as IP address and errors) that keep the service secure and working.
- Your clients’ details: the names, addresses and emails of your clients that you add so you can bill them. You are responsible for having a reason to use that information, and we only use it to provide the service to you.
How we use it
- To run Blue Check: make and send your invoices, estimates, receipts and reminders, and show you when they are viewed and paid.
- To keep your account secure, including email sign-in codes and spotting abuse such as spam.
- To send you account emails, such as sign-in codes, receipts for your subscription and important service notices.
- To improve Blue Check using totals (for example, how many invoices were sent in a day) rather than looking at your business records.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your invoices or your clients’ details for advertising.
Who helps us run the service
We use a small number of trusted providers, who may only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Google Cloud / Firebase — hosts the app and stores your data in Toronto, Canada.
- Amazon Web Services (SES) — sends invoice and account emails from Canada (Montréal).
- Vercel — serves the website and web app pages.
- Anthropic — reads the file you upload when you choose “Copy my old design” and returns template settings. This processing may happen in the United States, and the file is not stored by us afterwards.
- Stripe, Apple and Google — handle subscription payments when you upgrade. We never see or store your full card number.
Some of these providers may process information outside Canada. When that happens, your information is protected by contracts and by the laws of the places where it is processed.
Who can see your business
Only you and the team members you invite. Clients you send an invoice to can see that invoice through its private link. A small number of SyncX Pro Inc. staff can access accounts when needed to give support, prevent abuse or meet a legal requirement, and every such action is logged.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. Invoices and payment records are business records, so we keep them until you delete them or close your account. When you close your account we delete your data within 90 days, except where the law requires us to keep it longer. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.
Your choices
- You can see and change your account and business details in Settings at any time.
- You can export your invoices to CSV from Reports (Pro plan).
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by emailing support@bluecheckinv.com.
Cookies
The website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The web app saves your sign-in and some of your data on your device so it opens quickly and works offline. Signing out removes your sign-in.
Security
Connections are encrypted, passwords are hashed, sign-in can require an email code, and access to your business is limited to the people you invite. No service can promise perfect security; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
Children
Blue Check is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we make important changes to this policy we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
